ग्लूकोमा विश्व में अंधत्व का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा कारण है लेकिन फिर भी लोगो में इस बिमारी के प्रति कम ही जागरूकता देखि जाती है | आँखों के अन्दर जब चेनल्स ब्लाक की वजह से प्रेशर बढ़ जाता है तो यह दृष्टिनाड़ी को नुकसान पहुंचाकर रोशनी को धीरे-धीरे हमेशा के लिए कम कर देता है | ग्लूकोमा से कम हुई रोशनी दोबारा सामान्य हो ऐसी संभावनाएं कम ही रहती है | तभी इस बिमारी को मूक हत्यारा या शांत कातिल कहते है | क्योकि ग्लूकोमा के लक्षण शुरुआत में पकड़ आना मुश्किल रहता है | अतः हर वर्ष नियम से नेत्रतज्ञो से आँखों की जाँच करवाते रहना चाहिए |

Glaucoma is a group of eye disorders mainly cause damage to optic nerve and irriversible vision loss. The stat in which Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP) is increased and it damage optic nerve and tissues. For Nutrition, Lubrication and maintain pressure, Eye produce watery aquas fluid inside and angle is control the internal drainage system.

When drainage system face any obstraction internal pressure is increased called Glaucoma.Glaucoma is slient thief of sight and second leading cause of blindness in the world. Open angle glaucoma is most common increased sliently, decrease vision and has no remarkable symptoms. Angle closure glaucoma may present pain, redness, nausea, headache and sudden loss of vision.

Causes of Glaucoma -

Still cause of glaucoma remain unclear in many cases but following factors increase risk of glaucoma -
1. Dieting (Caffeine Vitamin-A Deficiency)
2. Ethnicity (Racism) Genetics
3. Secondary with systemic disease
4. Surgical Complications

Symptoms of Glaucoma -

1. Gradually Loss of Field Vision
2. Tunnel Vision
3. Increased IOP
4. Eye Pain, Red Eye, Nausea (in acute)
5. Headache

Diagnosis of Glaucoma -

1. Visual acuity test
2. Field Vision Analysis (Perimetry)
3. Tonometry
4. OCT
5. Pachymetry

Prevention of Glaucoma -

1. Yearly Eye Checkup
2. Good controlling of HT, DM
3. Avoid smoking, Alcohols, Obesity
4. Do Regular Exercise
5. Take Ayurvedic Prevention Medicine

Ayurvedic Treatment of Glaucoma -

Early detection of Glaucoma is very important. The aim of glaucoma is maintain normal IOP and check vision damage with oral and local medicines. Conventional Oral/Laser Trabeculectomy, Canaloplasty, Glaucoma drain implant is surgical process.
